disclosures

I strongly believe in clear disclosures of conflicts of interest. I don't post sponsored content on my website, on my personal Twitter account, or anywhere else, so please don't ask. Everything here is me and my opinion. Do not quote me as “$company person Geoffrey Huntley said”— I publish on their channels if I speak for a company.

ai

I write about AI for myself (so I don't have to repeat myself) and for other clued-in software engineers. My primary concern is ensuring that more software engineers make it through this transitionary period in our industry. Nobody has paid me to write anything about AI and if they did I would disclose it.

Dear Student: Yes, AI is here, you’re screwed unless you take action...
Two weeks ago a student anonymously emailed me asking for advice. This is the reply and if I was in your shoes this is what I’d do. So, I read your blog post “An oh f*** moment in time” alongside “The future belongs to idea guys that can just do

cryptocurrencies

My professional work has nothing to do with cryptocurrencies, blockchains, or finance. I am not paid to write about cryptocurrencies or related topics. A few generous people have contributed to my wallet at ghuntley.eth which is available for inspection:

ghuntley.eth | Address 0x0539a1a98b4aee9e2435ec2c3b24caeea179e8a2 | Etherscan
The Address 0x0539a1a98b4aee9e2435ec2c3b24caeea179e8a2 page allows users to view transactions, balances, token holdings and transfers of ERC-20, ERC-721 and ERC-1155 (NFT) tokens, and analytics.

NFTs

My wallet does contain an RR/BAYC NFT, which Ryder Ripps copyrighted as conceptual art and sent to my wallet to troll me in response to TheNFTBay.org. I think NFTs are dumb, and you should not buy or "invest" in them. If someone were dumb enough to submit an offer for a duplicate pointer on the blockchain linking to an image, I would likely accept the offer as it would create an excellent talking point to demonstrate the absurdity of this ecosystem.
